I remember this vividly, because it happened maybe a month ago. I had my headphones in and this middle aged man said to me, "So you're not white" and I realized this is all he's interested in talking about and then he said to me "I'm a white guy but I wouldn't be opposed to kissing a Muslim or a black lady, its all the same, I don't really get racism, you know?" All I could think was why are you talking to me? And this happens a lot, most times I'm out in public and someone approaches me. It's annoying, it just feels like people try to place you in a box or ''other" you. I especially hate when middle aged or old white guys bother me about it. They're usually really creepy. Sometimes I feel like I'm being exoticized or fetishized as a woman of colour.
